Decision Guide · Question 2 of 3

Will the time required for charging work for you?

Charging away from home takes longer than filling a gas-powered car.

Adding a substantial amount of driving range will generally take longer than the few minutes you may be accustomed to spending at a gas station. Because you cannot charge at home, that difference becomes part of your normal ownership experience.

Charging time is not always time lost.

Some charging may happen while you are already shopping, eating, working, taking a break, or handling another normal activity. When charging overlaps something you would already be doing, the car may spend significant time charging without all of that time becoming additional time taken from your day.

Some charging will require dedicated time.

Think about how often that is likely to happen and the total additional time involved, including any meaningful travel or detour needed to reach the charger. Frequency matters as well as duration.

Does that time fit the way you live?

Work schedules, children, family responsibilities, caregiving, appointments, limited flexibility, and simply how you value your time can all change whether the same charging routine feels easy or burdensome. Given the time charging will actually require from you, decide whether it fits your life.
